Calcium carbide residue (CCR) was investigated in transesterification reaction of triglycerides to determine its viability as a solid catalyst for biodiesel synthesis. Literature survey showed that CCR has never been studied as a solid catalyst in the transesterification of triglyceride. The scope of the study includes the effects of CCR calcination temperature, calcination time, the alcohol/oil molar ratio, the catalyst amount (wt % of oil) and the reaction time. The relationship between chemical composition and catalytic activity of waste cement was also investigated. These CCR catalysts, thermally activated at 600 °C, can give rise to fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) purity higher than 99.5%, after 3 h of reaction, when oil/methanol molar ratio of 1/12 and 1 wt % of the catalyst were employed. Application of CCR as catalyst for biodiesel production in this study may not only provide a cost‐effective and environment friendly way of recycling CCR waste but also reduce hopefully the cost of biodiesel production.  相似文献

The principle and structure of polarization nucleon solid targets, the principle of choosing target material and 4π detectors suitable for exclusive measurements are discussed. The effects of ion implantation on the properties of spin-on sol–gel Ba0.7Sr0.3TiO3 (BST) thin films were studied by implanted Ar+, N+, and F+ doses. The F+-implanted BST samples present leakage current density <10−6 A/cm2 at 2.5 V and dielectric constant 450. The leakage current of F+-implanted BST samples was reduced about one order of magnitude as compared with that of samples with implanted Ar+, N+ or without implantation. The thickness shrinkage from 135 to 115 nm was observed in F+-implanted BST films (before annealing treatment) and a respective increase in the refractive index from 1.84 to 2.05 was measured. After annealing the implanted samples, the changes of thickness and refractive index depend on the concentration of implanted dose. Based on an infrared transmission study of the samples we suggest that the ion-implanted samples with smaller dose (5×1014 cm−2) have fewer −OH contaminants than the non-implanted or implanted samples with the larger doses (1×1015 cm−2). Based on the results presented, we conclude that suitable ion implantation densifies the spin-on sol–gel BST films and reduces the −OH contaminants in the films.  相似文献

Summary: Polystyrene‐block‐poly(ethylene oxide) (SEO) block copolymer thin films, in which CdS clusters have been sequestered into the PEO domains of the SEO block copolymers, are found to induce the morphological transformation of PEO from cylinders to spheres, as shown by using atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This transformation is caused by the presence of hydrogen‐bonding interactions between surface‐hydroxylated CdS and PEO, as confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies.

Based on a study of a minimization problem, we present the following results applicable to possibly nonconvex sets in a Banach space: an approximate projection result, an extended extremal principle, a nonconvex separation theorem, a generalized Bishop-Phelps theorem and a separable point result. The classical result of Dieudonné (on separation of two convex sets in a finite-dimensional space) is also extended to a nonconvex setting.  相似文献

We study the Clarke–Rockafellar directional derivatives of the regularized gap functions (and of some modified ones) for the variational inequality problem (VIP) defined by a locally Lipschitz but not necessarily differentiable function on a closed convex set in an Euclidean space. As applications we show that, under the strong monotonicity assumption, the regularized gap functions have fractional exponent error bounds and consequently that the sequences provided by an algorithm of Armijo type converge to the solution of the (VIP). This paper presents a technique for structure damage detection based on spatial wavelet analysis. Many damage detection methods require modal properties before and after damage. This method only needs the spatially distributed signals (e.g. the displacements or mode shapes) of the rectangular plate after damage. First, spatially distributed signals of the rectangular plate with damage are obtained by finite element method. The damaged region is represented as the elements with reduced stiffness. Then these spatially distributed signals are analyzed by wavelet transformation. It is observed that distributions of the wavelet coefficients can identify the damage position of rectangular plate by showing a peak at the position of the damage. It is also demonstrated that this method is very sensitivity to the damage size.  相似文献
